Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance

His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together.

Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness that the loving heart of me.

Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your hand between the blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do.

Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footstep falls upon my waiting ear.

When it is cold and wet, please take me inside, for I am now a domesticated animal, no longer used to the elements. And I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth.

Though, had you no home, I would rather follow you through ice and snow than rest upon the softest pillow in the warmest home in all the land, for you are my god and I am your devoted worshipper.

Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for although I should not reproach you were it dry, I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst.

Feed me clean food, that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life should your life be in danger.

And, beloved master, should the great Master see fit to deprive me of my health or my sight, do not turn me away from you. Rather, hold me gently in your arms as skilled hands grant me the merciful boon of eternal rest and I will leave you knowing with the last breath I drew, my fate was ever safest in your hands.

* ODE TO A CAT *
I think that I shall never see A cat that sheds as much as thee Thy fur that sticks is all around On chairs, on mats, in little mounds I sweep the floor, you shed some more I wash the rug and you just shrug You should give thanks I tolerate that Or you would be a crew cut cat!

* Final Act Of Love *
My loving friend.Know my heart is heavy with pain.Watching you slip away from life is more than I can stand.I want to help your suffering end.

I hold you in my arms as a mother would a child. My tears blind me, my heart is breaking, how can I not help your suffering end?

I`ll hold your memories in my heart till that time when we'll no longer be apart. Go romp the Fields of heaven.

For now our time has come to part.with the heaviest of heart I do this Final act of love for you my friend.

My best friend closed his eyes last night, As his head lay in my hand. The doctors said he was in pain, And it was hard for him to stand.

The thoughts that scurried through my head, As I cradled him in my arms, Were of his younger puppy years, And Oh... his many charms.

Today there was no gentle nudge, With an intense "I love you" gaze. Only a heart that's filled with tears, Remembering our joy-filled days.

But an Angel just appeared to me, And said, "You should cry no more, God also loves our canine friends, He's installed a doggy door!"

A newly discovered chapter in the Book of Genesis has provided the answer to "Where do pets come from?"

Adam said, "Lord, when I was in the garden, you walked with me every day. Now I do not see you anymore. I am lonesome here and it is difficult for me to remember how much you love me."

And God said, "No problem! I will create a companion for you that will be with you forever and who will be a reflection of my love for you, so that you will love me even when you cannot see me.

Regardless of how selfish or childish or unlovable you may be, this new companion will accept you as you are & will love you as I do, in spite of yourself."

And God created a new animal to be a companion for Adam. And it was a good animal. And God was pleased. And the new animal was pleased to be with Adam and he wagged his tail.

And Adam said, "Lord, I have already named all the animals in the Kingdom and I cannot think of a name for this new animal." And God said, "No problem. Because I have created this new animal to be a reflection of my love for you, his name will be a reflection of my own name, and you will call him DOG."

And Dog lived with Adam and was a companion to him and loved him. And Adam was comforted. And God was pleased.
And Dog was content and wagged his tail. After a while, it came to pass that Adam's guardian angel came to the Lord and said, "Lord, Adam has become filled with pride. He struts and preens like peacock and he believes he is worthy of adoration.

Dog has indeed taught him that he is loved, but perhaps too well." And God said, "No problem! I will create for him a companion who will be with him forever and who will see him as he is.
The companion will remind him of his limitations, so he will know that he is not always worthy of adoration."

And God created CAT to be a companion to Adam. And Cat would not obey Adam. And when Adam gazed into Cat's eyes, he was reminded that he was not the supreme being. And Adam learned humility. And God was pleased.

And Adam was greatly improved. And Dog was happy. And the cat didn't give a hoot one way or the other.

* MY FRIEND! *
My friend, my buddy, through happy and sad,

Beside me you stand, beside me you walk, you're there to listen, when I need to talk,

With pain and tears, I call your name, just knowing you`ll be there when my time is here.

*STRAY CAT*
Oh, what unhappy twist of fate Has brought you homeless to my gate? The gate where once another stood To beg for shelter, warmth, and food

For from that day I ceased to be The master of my destiny. While he, with purr and velvet paw Became within my house the law.

He scratched the furniture and shed And claimed the middle of my bed. He ruled in arrogance and pride And broke my heart the day he died.

So if you really think, oh Cat, I'd willingly relive all that Because you come forlorn and thin Well...don't just stand there...Come on in!

*A FAITHFUL DOG*

And when you're feeling out of sorts, Somehow he'll understand. He'll watch you with his shining eyes, and try and lick your hand. His blind, implicit faith in you Is matched by his great love. The kind that all of us should have In the Master, up above

When everything is said and done, I guess this isn't odd For when you spell "Dog" backwards You get the name of God ....

My precious, furry friend? Part mischief, but all blessing,
And faithful to the end!

You never hold a grudge... You think I'm far too wonderful
To criticize or judge.

Is being close to me... I think God knew how comforting Your warm, soft fur would be.

I know you think you're human, But I'm glad it isn't true...
The world would be a nicer place If folks were more like you!

A few short years are all we have; One day we'll have to part...
But you, my pet, will always have A place within my heart.

HAVE YOU A DOG IN HEAVEN LORD
Have you a dog in Heaven Lord And do you pat her head Does she sit up and beg each night Before she goes to bed

Does she look up with shining eyes when she sees Your smiling face Does she wag her stubby little tail when she wants to run a race

Is there room for just one more Cause my doggy came to see you today she'll be waiting at Your door

Please take her into Heaven, Lord And keep her there for me just feed her pet her love her Lord That's all she'll ask of Thee

Written In Memory Of all the animals in heavenGod Needed A Puppy In Heaven
